Choosing Your Color Palette

One of the first steps any bride takes in planning her special day, is to choose a color palette. This sets the tone for the entire wedding. Making this decision early will ensure that all elements of your ceremony and reception are well coordinated (without being matchy) and flow cohesively. Pantone's color system is a great tool for communicating your color choices to family, friends, wedding planners, vendors and anyone else who may be helping you with your wedding plans. Not familiar with Pantone? Well twice a year Pantone releases a Fashion Color Report- once in the Fall and once in the Spring. The Fall report is for the following Spring/Summer line. The Spring report is for the following Fall/Winter line. This report is based on New York's Fashion Week. Based on designs seen at Fashion Week, Pantone chooses 10 colors they believe will be trending for that season. New York's most recent Fashion week was held a couple of weeks ago, so Pantone just released their Fashion Color Report for Spring 2013! Trending colors will be: Dusk Blue, Tender Shoots, Lemon Zest, Linen, Poppy Red, Emerald, Grayed Jade, African Violet, Monaco Blue (my personal favorite!), and Nectarine. To see exactly what these colors look like, check out our Pinterest board at http://pinterest.com/wedbysea We hope this gives you some inspiration for your upcoming wedding! |
